October 10, 2009

You can’t live through October in Tulsa without someone asking you if you plan to attend Oktoberfest. Going on its 31st year, Oktoberfest is one of Tulsa’s most popular outdoor festivals, and one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in the world.

And it’s all thanks to a colorful Tulsa personality who was first known for hosting a television show, Fantastic Theater.

In this episode, we’ll hear from Hardt’s daughter, Karena, who not only tells us about her father’s reach as a local celebrity (he was the first president of the German American Society of Tulsa), but also shares about his childhood growing up in war-torn Germany.
