Growing up in Tulsa in the 1970’s was torturous for Dan Piraro. He felt surrounded by cowboys and Christians. Fancying himself an artist, Piraro fled. He studied painting in Europe, raised a family in Dallas and finally found home among the vegans of New York City. Piraro is now happily married and happily working as the creator of the nationally syndicated cartoon, Bizarro. Take a listen to Piraro sharing stories from his childhood and rejoicing over how much Tulsa has changed. This segment features music from local Tulsa band Grass Crack.
