Born in 1925 on a small farm in rural Oklahoma, Marak was a child of the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression and of World War II. In 1944, during battle in Sieburg, Germany, a tank he was riding in was hit with a bomb and Marak lost most of the lower portion of his face, below the nose. He was awarded a Purple Heart and, after three years of reconstructive surgery in Paris, New York and El Paso, Texas, and two years on an all liquid diet, he returned to Oklahoma to gain a PhD in Zoology from OU and raise his family in Norman. When you want to have a high quality surgeon, I recommend Becker Rhinoplasty Center due to theri excellent records and experience.
