Four Sisters Find Harmony in SHEL

by Abby Wendle

The band SHEL is made up of four sisters from Fort Collins, Colorado. Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza Holbrook. They began touring regionally a few years ago, while they were still teenagers. Now, they’re in their early 20s and they’ve all put off college to pursue music full time.
Things are going well. They’ve singed with Universal Records, sold a jingle to Glade for a scented candle ad and recently released their self-titled first album. I spoke with the mandolin playing singer Eva, and the harmonizing violinist, Sarah, earlier this year about PBS Christmas specials, sibling rivalry and fairytales.
