Rufus Newsome grew up poor and hungry in Sunflower County, Mississippi. His family couldn’t afford food from the grocery store, so they grew gardens. Rufus and his wife later started a community farm in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and have helped more than a dozen families, churches, and schools grow their own food.
