Vatican Criticizes Nuns’ Stance On Social Issues—The Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), the largest group of Catholic nuns in the US, drew the ire of the Vatican leadership for “serious doctrinal problems.” When the Vatican ordered an archbishop to make some changes to the conference, the nuns turned it into a national debate on the radio. The heat of that debate was expertly captured in this short All Things Considered interview with Melissa Block.
